Working culture in Australia

Even though Australians are “Lay back” by nature, the work culture is from that. Their customed to work hard and long hours and a promise is promise. Shops are opened 7 days a week, major supermarkets like Safeway/Woolworths and Coles are opened 17 hours per day.

Business attire is not very different from the globally accepted norm.

Recent research that is conducton on the foundations of Hoffstede’s initial research that he concluded in the 1973, shows that Australian are highly Independant (IDV). This must be taken into account when analysing the working culture. In Australia’s culture, privacy is regarded very precious.
